Look: almost everything about this year’s World Cup is awful - the corrupt selection process, the inhumane construction of stadiums, the anti-LGBTQ polices of the host nation, and the exploitative greediness of FIFA.

Still, this is a competition that many of us will watch. These are our countries and our teams. This is the game we love.

But we believe football can and should mean more. We believe football belongs to everyone. We’re committed to generating real good out of this bad situation.
